My new pride and joy

Took a very nice drive down to Washington today, to meet Tim at Innova, which was a real pleasure, and pick up my brand new Innova Seaker.

I had always been fascinated by this boat, and have wavered back and forth whether it's a good one, or maybe just too much for an inflatable. Since they were on sale for half price last month I decided to treat myself and go ahead and get it. I have some trips in mind that the Sunny just wouldn't be suitable for.

Also picked up a K-Pump, as I'm going through the Bravo footpumps at the rate of 1 a year. And since the Seaker runs at a bit higher pressure, I got a Qwik Chek gauge.

So far my first impressions are very positive. I don't think it will ever replace the Sunny (too much like a hardshell) but it is a beautifully put together boat, and the foot pedal rudder system is simple, and looks like it will work well. We shall see tomorrow, as I'm planning to head for Sechelt and put her through the paces. The weather is looking beautiful, could be the last weekend of summer, so we're heading out for an overnighter.

I also have fess up, this was not my only new kayak this week. Came across an irresistable Craigslist deal and now I also own a Safari. So there's four Innova kayaks I own. I think I am addicted.

More pics and stories of the Seaker and the Safari to come!
